Amble & Ramble at Laurelhurst Park
Details
Ah, to be in the trees at Laurelhurst Park, a true gem in the Portland parks collection!
I don't know about you, but I get restless and overstimulated in bars and indoor event venues. I'd rather be in the trees! Take your conversation for a walk outdoors.
Amble & Ramble builds authentic connection by pairing strangers for a light, playful walking conversation around the park..
We’ll begin with an introduction followed by forming conversation pairs. You will receive an optional discussion prompt that invites authenticity. Then we stroll for 15 minutes through the park, make our return, and begin the process again. We’ll do about four to five circuits.
If our crowd is larger, we will break into smaller conversation circles so you have opportunities to meet more new companions.
This event is intended to be pleasant, engaging, easeful, and meaningful. We all endure some loneliness in this culture and it’s important to me to alleviate that for an afternoon when I can! I wish for my guests to feel seen, heard, and understood.
Donations are encouraged. You may donate to this event via Venmo: @StevenGoldberger
I look forward to meeting you!

About me: I'm a dreamer and a seeker, intent on connecting with others, making meaning together, and co-creating something harmonious and impactful. Having often felt invisible in my life and longing for deeper connection, I now try to build spaces of healing via my events. I hope people feel seen for who they are.
Guests sometimes tell me "This is the best MeetUp I've ever been to." I'm grateful to hear that people feel safe, relaxed, and welcomed here.
I often channel my hero Mel Brooks and lean into a bit of whimsical humor to remind us that none of this is meant to be taken too seriously. One guest told me they arrived nervous but immediately relaxed when they saw me in full Willy Wonka regalia.
My hope is simple: that you join us, rain or shine, and find yourself in a meaningful and enjoyable conversation.
I receive lovely feedback each time:
"A great way to interact with people from all walks of life, an increasingly rare opportunity in our modern times!"
"The organizer is awesome. The evening (wet as it was) was filled with meaningful connections among a group of incredibly diverse people. What an amazing night!"
"It was great! You are very engaging and create a welcoming and playful space. I am more reserved and shy but always feel encouraged to come back and practice sharing about myself and learning about others. Thanks for doing these!"
