Write Cards for Letters Against Isolation or Notes for Maine Needs
Details
It's going to be cold(ish) again on Sunday. Let's drink coffee and write some cards for Letters Against Isolation or notes for Maine Needs. Letters Against Isolation is a program that allows individuals to send non-addressed general letters to seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. There are two facilities in Maine still requesting letters this period (each period is two weeks) - Sanfield Rehab and Living Center in Hartland and Augusta Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Augusta. Maine Needs has also requested small written motivational notes to tuck into clothing they provide. I'll mail and/or drop off the cards/notes following the event.
I'll have some basic supplies (cards, stickers, origami paper, markers, pens, construction paper, scissors) but feel free to bring your own as well. We have a table reserved for 6 people.
Owlbear's Rest is a boardgame bar (coffee in the morning, basic drinks at night) and has some snacks/food. If people would like, we can play some games once we're tired of writing letters. You can find more information and see their menu here: https://owlbearsrest.com/
I'll post updates in the comments so keep an eye out for those notifications. Stay home if you're feeling ill or exposed to someone sick.
