What we’re about
Welcome to Vancouver UFO & Preparing for Contact
Explore the fascinating world of UFOs and extraterrestrial encounters with us. This is a space for curious minds and passionate researchers to come together, exchange insights, and share personal experiences related to ET contact and the unexplained. We dive into evidence, discuss theories about why extraterrestrials are engaging with humanity, and examine how these phenomena may be influencing society and consciousness.
Our group is also a welcoming community for those who may feel isolated in their interest—here, you’ll find like-minded people and the opportunity to form lasting friendships. Instead of being speaker focused, most meetings are facilitated group discussions with our collective knowledge and wisdom.
Whether you’ve spent years investigating these topics or you’re just beginning your journey, you’re invited to be part of meaningful conversations that challenge the limits of conventional thinking. We regularly host meetups, talks, and guest speakers, and we’re cultivating a strong in-person community in Vancouver. "Preparing for Contact" in our name, comes from ICER at https://icer.pt/ .
Not located nearby? That’s okay—there are still ways to get involved!
Online Community and Participation
We’re building an online community open to everyone with an interest in UFOs, extraterrestrials, and the deeper questions of contact and consciousness. You don’t need to be a ufologist to get involved. If you're interested in hosting a meeting or sharing your perspective, simply reach out to our organizer, Brian.
Brian Ruhe founded the Vancouver UFO Meetup on June 3, 2009 and he has developed a unique school of thought within ufology, but this Meetup welcomes all viewpoints. We encourage respectful dialogue, and all voices are welcome to participate and be heard. You can explore Brian’s evolving research and ideas here:
👉 Brian Ruhe's ET Hypothesis and Sources . Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysicist Dr. Rudy Schild Endorses this, writing that Brian presents a factual basis more comprehensive than any he has ever seen. Brian updated this thesis on July 24th, 2025 and he asks that members read it here: An ET Hypothesis and Sources
Our Meetup is part of a larger project idea, University Galacticus, at https://universitygalacticus.org/ .

Zoom Etiquette
We hold frequent online meetings—usually on weekends or whenever our guests and hosts are available.
To make things easy, we use a passcode-enabled Zoom room, which allows you to bypass the waiting room entirely.
📌 Zoom Guidelines:
• Please mute your microphone when not speaking—this helps improve the quality for those editing and watching the videos later.
• If you prefer not to appear on camera, simply turn your video off.
At in person Meetups about half of the members have requested that they not be seen in photos or videos. Some talks will be videotaped so please let Brian know if you do not want your voice in the video. Members are requested to leave comments after the event, on that event page and please take your own videos and photos and load them there too. Rooms will be divided with people who don't want to be filmed, on one side, and those who are courageous enough not to give a shit, on the other side.
Brian will give out free copies of his book to the people who show up at any meeting unless he forgets to do this. His book is: https://www.amazon.ca/SHORT-WALK-ANCIENT-PATH-Exploration-ebook/dp/B007RFLZ7I/ref=sr_1_1?sr=8-1
Note on Donations
These events are free and no donation is expected but if people are inspired to help cover Brian's costs, you can give a donation to him. This Meetup costs $496/ yr and the Zoom account costs $230/ yr. Some meeting rooms are free, some have a fee.
Brian Ruhe and Co-Organizer Dr. Nancy Liu, believe that humanity is not yet ready for full UFO/UAP disclosure. Some information, if released prematurely, could cause societal chaos, fear, and dangerous misuse of advanced technology.
Buddha taught that the three highest blessings in life are
- Don’t keep company with fools
- Keep company with the wise
- Honour those worthy of honour
In the spirit of the Buddha’s teaching to “honour those worthy of honour,” we recognise those who, through skill, discipline, and unwavering resolve, have safeguarded humanity from premature disclosure of extraterrestrial realities. Whether through national security service, scientific stewardship, or classified research, these individuals bore a burden few could comprehend.

Brian will share insights from his long-form essay An ET Hypothesis & Sources, a 17-section exploration of humanity’s connection with extraterrestrials. Join us on Zoom for highlights, open Q&A, and community feedback to help this hypothesis grow.
Full Description:
Our Organizer, Brian, will present highlights from his long-form thesis An ET Hypothesis & Sources. This work spans 17 sections exploring the extraterrestrial presence and its profound impact on humanity.
You can read the full essay on our main page here: An ET Hypothesis and Sources
Since the entire thesis is too detailed to cover in one session, Brian will focus on select sections. However, participants are welcome to offer feedback on any part of the work during the Q&A.
Brian emphasizes that this project is a community effort—critical feedback and fresh perspectives are encouraged, so the hypothesis can evolve collectively within our UFO community.
Future meetings will continue exploring additional sections of the hypothesis in depth.Meeting ID: 822 6238 8770

Michael Schratt is a military aerospace historian and has lectured across the country on the unique subject of "Mystery Aircraft", and classified propulsion systems buried deep within the military industrial complex.
We will have a Q & A with Michael and if you run out of questions he has his amazing new renderings of UFO retrievals he can show you.
Michael has developed a number of contacts which have had first hand experience dealing with classified “black programs”, including former USAF pilots, retired Naval personnel, and aerospace engineers that have maintained a TOP SECRET SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance.
His first Meetup with us was in May 2024 in these videos:

Our Organizer Brian, just recorded a new video with Michael on July 21 which will be on our channel soon!Michael may be the best in the world on presenting UFO/ UAP crash retrievals through the use of drawings, sketches, illustrations, and full-color renderings. He has the most exhaustive examination into the Leonard Stringfield UFO Crash/Retrieval cases.
