Buddhism Curious: Exploring Together

Anyone like me curious out about Buddhism? This is an introductory meeting to explore how we can plug into a Buddhist community and practice in Austin. I’ve taken some classes and read some books, but I haven’t yet been able to find a Buddhist community. First, there are many different flavors of Buddhism, so which one would be the right fit? Second, some of these groups (at least one) have been accused (rightly or wrongly) of being a cult. So, it might be more efficient to go on this journey with others. Any folks interested in going with me to attend various Buddhism groups, classes, workshops etc.? There’s comfort in numbers. We can meet to discuss how to proceed, what communities to check out, what books and resources to consult, etc. Also, any practicing Buddhists that wish to attend to give their advice and perspective would be greatly appreciated.
