Hello fellow Tabletop Board Game Enthusiasts! Join us for another afternoon of friends, food, and fun exploring modern tabletop board games!

**All are welcome!**
Whether you’re a seasoned board gamer or just curious about the hobby, there's a place for you at our table! This event is open to everyone, regardless of experience level.

Bring your spirit of fun and adventure as you delve into the world of modern tabletop board games with us, specifically the "thinky" or "puzzly" strategic and Euro-style games.

Together, we will have lots of laughs, learn something new, flex our strategic thinking skills, and experience a variety of beautifully designed board games!

**Pre-game**
Feel free to arrive a little early to snack and socialize before the games begin! It’s a great way to show our appreciation and support for our host location, and to fuel up for an afternoon of gaming.

**1:30 pm - Warm-up Gaming**
Warm-up games will begin promptly at 1:30 pm with some lighter games to get the gears moving. This is a time for everyone to have some fast fun while we gather and prepare for the main event games.

Running a bit late? No worries! You can still grab a bite and enjoy being a spectator until the main games get started.

**2:00 pm - Main Event**
Let the games begin! We'll organize ourselves into smaller (2-4 player) groups to play a variety of light to medium weight strategy and Euro-style games with playtimes of approximately 60-90 minutes each.

I'll bring a sampling of board games and encourage you to bring some from your own collection that you think the group may enjoy. The goal is to ensure everyone has a great time, whether they’re learning new games or sharing games they love.

If you have a game (or two, or a few) that you'd love to bring along, let us know in the comments below!

If you’re bringing a game, be prepared to teach it to others. It's ok if you aren't an expert — a simple overview will work. If the game requires a detailed teach, consider posting a YouTube tutorial video in the comments below... that should do the trick.

When choosing games to bring along, please consider these guidelines:

* Warm Up - playtimes under 30 minutes, 5 or more players
* Main Event - playtimes of approximately 60-90 minutes are best, for 2-4 players

🎲 Game "Night" - Strategy & Euro-style Board Games

**Do you crave *deeper* conversations?** Would you like to learn more about each other than our names, jobs, and where we're from? Then this event is for you!

“Deeper Conversations” is a new monthly event series I'm planning to host, if there is enough interest. The idea is to gather in a comfortable, semi-quiet space to discuss a different theme each month. I will bring a curated list of conversation starter questions based on the card decks sold by popular YouTube channels that foster deep conversations, including *Diary of a CEO*, *Yes Theory*, and *Eamon & Bec*. These questions are vetted to be non-political and non-religious, while sparking meaningful, uplifting, or intellectual conversations. They will be roughly sequenced from lighter to deeper questions, so we can warm up and get to know each other before diving in. If you have any questions you'd like to ask the group, please DM them to the organizer, Danielle, in advance, so she can vet and work them into the list.

**September's Theme: “The Best of A.I.“**
Let's learn about each other, ourselves, and new ways to use Artificial Intelligence to improve our lives! We'll guide you to prompt your favorite AI to tell you insightful things about yourself (you'll choose what to share) and learn useful, funny, and creative ways others in our group have used AI. For example, you'll get to ask your AI to introduce you to us, while you tell us how right or wrong it is! There will also be questions for humans to answer, such as, "What’s something you’ve discovered you can do with AI that you think other people would find useful?"

Future conversation themes will be matched to the season when possible, such as "unsolved mysteries, mythical creatures, and conspiracies" for October Halloween season and "favorite memories" to kick off the holidays in November.

**VENUE & HAPPY HOUR DEALS**
I’ve carefully chosen Mad Dogs & Englishman‘s new restaurant for its cozy, small spaces conducive to semi-private conversations with up to 16 people (see my event photo). There’s no loud music and an excellent happy hour menu of food and drinks until 6pm, including craft cocktails, wine, beer, appetizers, pizza, burger with fries, and entrée salad. Happy hour ends at 6:00 pm, so **I recommend arriving at 5:30** to order, eat, and get the small talk out of the way before we dive into the deeper conversations. Please plan to be there by 6 pm for the main event.

IMPORTANT: As usual, **RSVPs close the day before the event**, so please make any changes before then. No-shows will be removed from the group. This includes people who cancel on the day of the event, after RSVPs close.

This is a super casual spot - no reservations here. lol. But, wear your swimsuits & coverups. This place has a pool! There's also indoor seating, if you need A/C. They display sportsball games on a bunch of TVs, have live music or DJs in the evenings, and did I mention a POOL!

This October, we’re summoning monsters, madness, and meeples in a special spin-off boardgame event featuring two spine-tingling tabletop adventures:

* **Horrified** \- a lighter\, cooperative monster hunt\, great for all skill levels \(\~90 minutes\, up to 5 players\, with the option to pair up if extras join\)
* **Cthulhu: Rise of the Cults** \- a deeper\, strategic battle of eldritch horrors \(\~2\-3 hours\, 3\-5 players\)

👻 Depending on interest, we’ll either run the games back-to-back or at separate tables simultaneously. Please **comment below** if you’d like to play ***Horrified***, ***Cthulhu***, or ***both***. Want to bring a spooky-themed boardgame of your own? Comment that too! This will help me set the schedule and make sure everyone has a great experience.
