📢 - Integrating SMS and WhatsApp: harder than it sounds?
Thinking about adding business messaging to your product? This session is your comprehensive guide to doing it right. I’ll start by exploring the full landscape of communication channels, including SMS, WhatsApp, and Viber, and identify the most impactful use cases for your business. The talk will then get down to the practicalities: I’ll show you how to turn messaging into a profit center and walk through the critical steps of managing regulations, understanding pricing models, and protecting yourself against SMS fraud. By the end, you'll have a clear understanding of what to look for in a vendor and a solid plan to confidently integrate messaging into your product.
👤 Harry Peek - Head of Product at Messente
I've spent nearly two decades in the world of B2B software, working as a product leader across a wide range of industries, from building marketplaces for engineers to managing enterprise content and e-commerce warehouses. Today, I'm the Head of Product at Messente, where I'm focused on helping businesses in Europe connect with their customers through next-generation messaging tools like SMS, WhatsApp, and Viber. As a University of Bath alumnus who still lives nearby, I'm excited to be part of the local tech community.
📢 - Product Operating Models - Why, What, How?
A Product Operating Model describes how an organization intends to build products and services which users value while advancing its goals.
There’s a lot to it - these models can cover the whole lifecycle, encompassing aspects of organisation design, tech, ways of working, planning, design, delivery and operations, all intended to promote flow and use time and talent wisely.
Effective Product Operating Models are tailored to an organisation’s situation and aspirations, and that’s where things get tricky, there isn’t a template or turn key solution. Success isn’t only about how good the model is (or could be) it’s about introducing it, adapting it and the perennial challenges of change.
Based on experience coaching leads and working alongside product teams this primer covers the Why, What and How. We’ll delve into:
- Why use a product operating model?
- What makes a good model, what is (and isn’t) in it.
- How to introduce and evolve the model.
