Navigating the Second Product Problem: From Startup Success to Sustainable Growth
Your company's first product hit. Now what?
Most companies never solve this riddle: How do you expand beyond your initial success without destroying what made you successful in the first place?
Join Greg Coticchia, six-time CEO and product innovation expert, for an eye-opening session on the critical transition every growing company must navigate—the leap from one product to multiple offerings.
In this session, you'll discover:
- Why 95% of companies fail to create a second commercially successful product—and how to beat those odds
- The hidden cultural landmines that sabotage product expansion (even when leadership supports it)
- Battle-tested strategies from Apple, Netflix, and other companies that successfully cannibalized their own cash cows
- How to build influence without authority when championing new products
- The "Skunk Works" approach: When and how to separate new product teams for maximum innovation
You'll walk away with:
- A practical framework for overcoming organizational resistance to new products
- Specific tactics for building trust with development, sales, and executive teams
- Real strategies for portfolio management that balance innovation with existing product success
Whether you're a product manager fighting for resources, a leader planning your company's next chapter, or an entrepreneur preparing for scale, this session reveals the hard-won lessons from someone who's launched over 100 products and navigated 17+ M&A deals.
The brutal truth: Your current product won't sustain your business forever. Learn how to expand your portfolio before the market forces your hand.
