Talk: AI Powered Research Companion
Building a Student Research Assistant on CORDIS data:
How I turned 79,000+ EU research projects into a fast, searchable web app using a custom ETL for CORDIS (Horizon Europe, H2020, FP7), Supabase for storage/indexing, and Next.js for a responsive analytics dashboard. I’ll cover the data pipeline (ingest → transform → load), schema and index design, performance tactics (code-splitting, SSG/ISR, optimized queries), and how an AI assistant layer helps users navigate complex research data. Expect practical lessons on handling large JSON datasets, shipping interactive filters/cards, and measuring what actually makes search “feel” instant.
Target audience
Data engineers & analytics engineers working on ETL/ELT for messy JSON at scale
Full-stack web devs building data-heavy apps with Next.js + Postgres/Supabase
ML/AI practitioners adding retrieval/assistant features to products
Developer-researchers, digital librarians, and research ops teams
Product/UX folks interested in search/filter UX for large datasets

Talk: Product Based Software Development
As software engineers it can get very easy to get lost in building the most efficient code, and ignore the real business need or product relevance.
I want to introduce concepts like design thinking and product focused software development rather than just building algorithms. The best gift developers have is the ability to write code, but with product thinking, developer can begin to empathize with their customers and ship products that add value.
