1. Samuel Odukoya: Your journey learning Python
In this talk, I’ll share how I began learning Python through a data science class, then moved into web development with guidance from a SAIL Innovation Lab graduate. I built several websites, trained others, and later earned a scholarship at SAIL to study Generative AI. After a Python refresher course and months of hands-on learning, I worked on AI projects aimed at solving real-world problems.
From basic data wrangling to building intelligent systems and web tools, I’ll walk through the challenges, key resources, and real-life applications that shaped my growth. Python became a key tool in my journey as a Generative AI Engineer and ICT Manager. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for inspiration, I hope my story encourages you to explore Python’s potential in your own field.
2. Zach van Dorp: Python in practice as a Data, AI & Automation Consultant
I will showcase how Python has been applied in the solutions I have created for the clients of Artemis Software & Analytics (www.artemisai.co.nz). All solutions incorporate packages such as those used for data science including Numpy, Spacy, Pandas, SKLearn and XGBoost.
Python talks! Python people! Discussions from how to start learning Python through to debugging your robot pirate spaceship avionics controller library. Or whatever. If all goes well there will also be pizza and soft drinks and BEER. :)
📌 If you'd like to present at one of the next meetups, please fill out this form and we will help schedule you in.
