Tim McNamara: Why Your Async (Rust|Python|TypeScript) is Slow
Join our monthly meetup about all things Python, and Rust. Note that we are meeting at a different location and date to usual. We will be meeting at Partly HQ located at 210 Armagh street, Level 2, Partly office. Entrance is at the back of the building. Doors open at 5.30pm, with the talk starting at 6:00pm. Partly will generously provide food and refreshments.
The meetup will also be accessible virtually. Point your web browser at https://bbb2.nzoss.nz/b/men-pg1-cot-ai2 to access the session using Big Blue Button.
The meetup will be a little different this month. We're joining forces with the Christchurch Rust meetup with Tim McNamara dropping in to talk about "Why Your Async (Rust|Python|TypeScript) is Slow". This will be a brief tour of what can make async code significantly slower than it seems like it should be. We'll spend most of the time talking about Rust, but almost all of the talk will be applicable to programmers that use asynchronous code in other languages, including Python, JavaScript and C#.
Don't hesitate to pass this information around to whomever you think may be interested to hear and discuss all things Python (and Rust).
