Talk Outline: Special Guest, Bob Carpenter will present an application-focused introduction to RStan,the R interface to Stan ( http://mc-stan.org ). Stan is aflexible and expressive probabilistic programming languageproviding full Bayesian inference via MCMC and penalized maximum likelihood estimation via optimization.
BIO: Bob designed the Stan language at Columbia Uni and is oneof the core Stan developers. He used to be a professor
and production coder in industry.
