Let’s take a closer look at what’s going on in the waterways and fields of the Rancocas preserve. We will investigate how the surrounding environment affects what lives in the streams and meadows. Participants will set up field experiments such as ground level insect catchers and stream leaf bags. Using a variety of science tools, students will collect samples, test water, and observe what is found. This class is geared toward the hands-on science-minded thinker. Investigations will be mainly outdoors, so dress accordingly. Cost: (with a current Rancocas Nature Center membership): $72/per child for the 6-week session. The meadow is absolutely stunning this time of year--what a perfect place to practice plein air “in the open air” watercolor painting! All levels welcome, from beginners to experienced painters. Instruction, guidance, and all supplies will be provided. Please bring a folding/camp chair and feel free to bring your own set of watercolors if you would like (but not necessary).
