Greetings, my fellow renegades. This is an important topic I've personally confronted several times in life. I'm positive some of you will have too.
The following article is what inspired the topic. I also advise you read it beforehand, in addition to the prompt. I've attempted to summarize the article, and add some extra thoughts of my own I think are relevant.

November 9th is CARL SAGAN DAY.
For those who are unfamiliar, Carl Sagan was this really awesome astronomer who wrote profoundly poetically. He had a TV show called "Cosmos" which to this day, in my opinion, is the greatest TV science documentary ever made. It received cosmic cultural as well as critical acclaim. However, Cosmos is not merely a scientific documentary. Cosmos is more importantly; a profoundly philosophical, poetic, and spiritual work. There is a reason it was so wildly successful.
Cosmos opens up with this stirring scene.
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8k48bXJDDc)The specific cliffside that Sagan is speaking on, is actually not that far from us. It's right off a small road south of Monterey.
Its located here :
(https://www.quora.com/Where-is-the-location-that-Carl-Sagan-stood-at-the-opening-of-Cosmos)So here is my wild idea : We will have a "Pilgrimage", road trip, whatever all the way down there! If you're in South Bay I'll pick you up on the way down. We can spend the day eating various types of food and contemplating the cosmos.
My car can only transport five people, so I'm setting the limit to 5 people for now. Only sign up if you are SERIOUS! If we get more people to volunteer to drive we can transport more people.
Also, the place is technically privately owned. So unless if we find out who owns it and asks pretty please : We probably won't get too close to it. The journey matters more than the destination!
By the way, I'm considering making this a two day event. Let me know if y'all would be interested in Carl Sagan party.
See you!
