See all- Washoe Lake and Franktown RoadRC Willey, Reno, NV
Hi All,
This is an early morning ride that stays a bit Vanilla but is intended to allow people to rip along and be done before the Temperature becomes too warm.
We start at RC Willey's and head down Veterans and Old 395 to the top of Washoe Hill. We take Eastlake Blvd and take a small diversion on Lakeshore that takes us back to Eastlake in about 2 miles. We continue down Eastlake and take a break at mile 21 at the Park. We then continue to Old 395 and head north to Franktown Road. We do the 4.3 miles of Franktown Road and then rejoin Old 395. We can take an optional break at Bowers Mansion or continue up old 395. This time we will take the simple way up veterans to RC willey's in the interest of getting there before its hot. So its a Vanilla Washoe Lake and Franktown ride.

- Coffee House (Breakfast) Ride - Great Full Gardens South - CLUB MEMBERS ONLYGreat Full Gardens - S. Meadows , Reno , NV
About 16 miles C- rating
8:00 AM
Start: Great Full Gardens - South
Ride Leader: Tim Sullivan
Description: The Coffee House Ride this week will be a breakfast ride. Great Full Gardens is one of the favorites for breakfast rides because everything is good! Our route will take us on a ramble around the south Reno area, including a hidden lake that many of you have never seen. It's mostly flat. We will depart at 8:00AM to avoid the heat, which is not predicted to be quite as bad as the last few weeks.Because this is a breakfast ride, and GFG needs a head count by Tuesday around noon, YOU MUST RSVP BEFORE NOON on TUESDAY. This ride is open to Pedalers Club Members only; one of the perks for being a member!
RIDE SERIES DESCRIPTION: The Pedaler Coffee House Rides are designed for those who want a relatively easy, social ride, with the main goal of hanging out for good pastry and espresso after the ride. Most would be rated C/C-. We will depart from a different coffee house or bakery each time. When it warms up and we can start early, we will do breakfast rides (open to real members only, and subject to sign-up deadlines!).
E-BIKE NOTE: The ride leader is unable to handle e-bike mechanical issues (battery failure, flat tires, etc). Please have a backup plan for these events. Class 2 e-bikes are not permitted as they are not covered by club insurance.
RIDE SWEEP: Most of these rides will NOT have an official "sweeper." The ride leader will aim to regroup at certain points. We do not want to lose anyone; however, please note the ride levels (C).
NOTES: Check the Meetup posting 2 hours before ride time for weather-related and other changes. Helmets are required and bikes should be in good working order. For the safety of all riders, please do not use earbuds, headphones, or music players as they can interfere with the ability of riders to hear safety warnings (e.g. "Car back"). It is recommended you wear bright colors so drivers can see you. Our ride leaders may offer help with bicycle mechanical issues but are not bike mechanics. Be sure your bike has been checked by a proper mechanic to be sure it fits you correctly and is operating properly. Bring tire-changing tools, a spare tube & pump (or CO2 cartridge set-up), and you should know how to change a tire & care for your bike.
