What we’re about
You have found the home of the Rochester Hiking Meetup Group. It is here to help people interested in hiking to hike and to meet each other. We're active all year long. What's more, we have many members who are crossover members from other local Meetup groups, so opportunities to investigate and enjoy other interests abound.
RHMG should not be confused with a walking group, but we have scheduled activities suitable for hikers of varying abilities. Be sure to check individual hike descriptions for information about the level of difficulty, and contact the hike leader with more specific questions about the pace and terrain.
Please note that we regretfully do not allow pets at our regular activities activities, but we do try to arrange one dog hike per month.

Rochester Hiking Meetup Group/Genesee Valley Hiking Club (GVHC) events are free, but we do ask that you consider becoming a member of GVHC for $10 a year. Membership dues help support administrative costs, the costs of the meetup site and rental of a lodge or other facility for a picnic or winter event.
