We are hosting Battery B, the 1st RI Regiment for an interactive Camp of Instruction Saturday through Sunday!
All other activities on Sunday September 14th are free to all!
The Civil War era Battery B will set up their tents for an encampment at the Farmhouse. The soldiers and camp helpers will host three instructional sessions, two on Saturday, from 9 - noon and 1- 4, and one on Sunday, 9 - noon.
Learn what it was like to be a Civil War soldier or family member in the camp!
In each session participants will move through stations to learn about camp life, the uniforms, food and cooking, the role of women in the camp, musical instruments of the time, and artillery.
At the end of each session attendees will witness the firing of the cannon.
These sessions are appropriate for adults and teenagers. Maximum of 40 participants per session.
