Happy 3rd Birthday R-Ladies Melbourne!

This month marks the third year since we began the Melbourne Chapter of R-Ladies, and to celebrate our co-founder Göknur Giner will be presenting her tips, tricks and treats for R-Shiny!

Göknur is a postdoctoral scientist in the Bioinformatics Division at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. She has been using her background in Statistics and Applied Mathematics to develop new bioinformatics methods for genomics data analysis.

Göknur loves the functionality that R brings into her work. One of her favourite tools is Shiny, a tool that makes it incredibly easy to build interactive web applications with R (the official description of the Shiny package). Besides developing and maintaining R packages, with Shiny she builds interactive web applications to better communicate her work with her collaborators. In her talk, Göknur will help you build a mini interactive Shiny App and walk you through some common Shiny TRICKS that are frequently asked about. Therefore, her talk may be appealing to advanced shiny developers and newbies at the same time.

Since we will be celebrating our third anniversary at this event, Göknur will also share with you our journey from her perspective. Stay with us until the end and join the celebration with some TREATS!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
