Winter Overnight Backpacking Trip @ Tug Hill State Forest
Details
A very easy winter backpacking overnight trip. Perfect for a new backpacker or a seasoned veteran who wants to extend their backpacking to all 4 seasons. Last year we went to the same location and there was lots of snow. This year the lake effect snow has dumped alot there again!
We will be hiking only about 2 miles to a lean-to. Be prepared for cold, rain, snow , ice, etc. Snowshoes might be a good idea depending on the amount of snow. (I do have a couple I can loan if needed)
Also, a pulk(sled) can be handy to haul jugs of water and dry firewood. A couple of us have them but the more the better. Mine is based on this inexpensive sled

and I used these instructions from REI

If you would like to join in this mini adventure please sign up for the waiting list and at least one of the planning meetups. I will take you off the waiting list after you attend a planning meeting and commit to the trip. (If you can't attend a planning meeting, but have been on previous trips with us, you can also signup please message me directly too, thanks)
When it gets close to the weekend of the trip, we will arrange via messages where/when to meet on the morning to car pool and ensure there are cars at each end if a linear route is chosen.
I hope you can join us on this fun and easy overnight.
