
What we’re about
We meet weekly for one hour to practice simple silent mindful meditation, walking meditation, followed by poetry, tea, and brief conversation before going on our way. This group is welcome to all and is suitable for those who wish to begin a meditation practice. We meet rain or shine, and on holidays.
Mondays Schedule 4:30-5:30 pm: Brief meditation instruction followed by a bell, 10 minutes of silent meditation, silent walking meditation, 20 minutes of silent meditation, followed by a gratitude verse, tea and snack and a poem, and brief reflections about the poem before heading home.
We have been meeting for over a year. Come the days you can. Try it it's freely offered.

- Zen meditation Tuesday afternoons for all peopleRockville United Church , Rockville, MD
Join for one or two of the mediation periods. We offer two periods of 25-minutes of silent Zen meditation with walking meditation, dharma talk, ending with 15 minutes chanting or sharing. You may attend for all or part of the meditation period. If you come late, join at the 5:15 meditation period. We sit until 6 pm.
Weekly Tuesday afternoon Zen meditation. Come a little early to find your seat. Doors open at 4:30 pm Park in the back of the church or walk from the front parking lot and look for a sign on the door. Someone will welcome you. First bell rings at 4:45 You may sit on a chair or cushion. All are welcome. Instruction is provided upon request.

5:15pm--25 minutes Zazen (includes encouraging talk by teacher)

5:45pm--15 minutes of chanting/closing verses
6 pm--Depart/clean ZendoJoyful Mind Zen Community offers Zen practice, teaching, sitting and walking meditation on Sundays, Monday and Tuesday in our Rockville Zendo. All are welcome, no experience necessary, free to all.
