This is a space for men who are tired of doing life alone.
Rooted Kingship is all about real brotherhood authentic connection, honest conversations, and showing up for each other. We’re not here to perform, but to be ourselves and support each other as we walk through life literally and figuratively.
What to expect:
Monthly (or biweekly) trail walks and hikes in Durham region—Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Clarington and beyond
- No pressure to share, but a chance to connect in a safe, respectful space
- Focus on mental health, fatherhood, personal development, and what it means to grow as a man
- A confidential, judgment-free community. What’s shared here stays here.

Brotherhood in Motion — Slow down to move forwardWhy we walk: At Rooted Kingship, we believe no man should do life alone. These mornings are for moving stress out of the body, breathing deeper, and being seen—without pressure to perform. Come as you are.
What to expect:
- Soft start (7:30 AM): check‑in, stretch, coffee/tea sips if you bring your mug
- Opening circle (7:45): name, intention, and our ground rules
- Hike (8:00–10:00): ~5–6 km loop, forest + gentle hills
- Two pacers: Steady (brisk conversation pace) and Chill (easy pace)
- Micro‑moments: quiet 3‑minute pause mid‑trail; optional partner check‑in
- Close (10:00–10:15): gratitude round + a take‑home prompt
Rooted Kingship Agreements (our vibe):
- Brotherhood: We look out for each other.
- Authenticity: Come as you are; no pressure.
- Growth: We move our bodies and our stories forward.
- Respect: Every voice matters; no judgment or shaming.
- Positivity: Bring truth and hope.
Ground Rules:
- Confidentiality — What’s shared on the trail stays with the group.
- Support > Advice — Ask before giving advice.
- Participation — Speak if you want, or just walk. Lurkers welcome.
What to bring:
- Water (at least 1L), light snack (nuts/fruit/protein)
- Weather‑ready layers; hat; comfy broken‑in shoes
- Small backpack; tissues; hand sanitizer
- If relevant: medications (e.g., inhaler), glucose tabs/juice, EpiPen
- Phone fully charged; optional trekking poles
Accessibility & pace: Trails include packed dirt, roots, and gentle inclines. We’ll support two paces and take short breath breaks. If you’re rehabbing or new to trails, join the Chill pacer.
Safety & consent: This is a peer‑led community walk. By registering, you acknowledge outdoor risks (slips, weather, wildlife). You are responsible for your own health and decisions. If you feel unwell, please bow out early and let a pacer know.
Photos: We’ll only share group photos with explicit consent. A quick thumbs‑up/down will be asked before any photo.
Weather plan: Light rain = we go. Thunderstorms or unsafe conditions = we’ll post an update by Friday 9:00 PM and email/DM all RSVPs with the new date.
Age & pets: 18+; no pets this round so we can keep focus and consistency.
