JOIN US IN CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY (IDPwD)!
Are you an Autistic Adult? Are you an individual interested in learning more about Autism and some strategies commonly employed to overcome challenges?
This event will be Autistic and Disability Friendly! It is run by Autistic Adults for Autistic Adults and anyone who is interested to know more!
WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Our objective is to increase awareness of challenges faced by Autistic Adults, and what supports and strategies they have found helpful.
IDPwD is a United Nations (UN) day observed internationally. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE DAY?
For the first part of the event, we will have a Q&A session with several Autistic Adults to talk about some of the challenges they've faced and Strategies they have employed to overcome those challenges.
We will be asking questions on various Topics, including maintaining mental health, a work/life balance, avoiding burnout, dealing with conflict, dealing with emotional disregulation and what supports they have used that have worked well.
After the formal part of the event, we will have fun activity tables for everyone to engage in together! Please bring your pinic blankets and snacks to hang out in the outside courtyard together!

- There will be a quiet/low sensory room set up, inside attached to the main hall.
- Enclosed playground and courtyard outside, kids are welcome.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT INSTRUCTIONS:
- GET a bus to the Victoria Park Transfer Station.
- Get the 910 bus down Canning Hwy Towards Fremantle.
- Get off at the Red Rooster /Subway.
- Walk down Collins Street and take the first street on the right. (Shaftesbury Street)
- Youll see a big colourful building and our IDPwD Signs!
