Saint Louis Indie Rock Meetup Group

Pavement were the quintessential slacker, indie-alt 90's band whose influence has only grown since then. This film gets described as very meta so it's a bit hard to pin down what to expect, but it incorporates spoof biopic footage, a fake museum exhibit on the band, and scenes from the Pavement musical. Should be interesting!

I'll be grabbing a quick drink at Basso beforehand so come join me there before heading over to the theater ~7:45pm.

Let's face it, it's tough to have a conversation during a concert so the goal is to have an opportunity to socialize with other members of the group. What a difference a year makes! MJ Lenderman was playing Off Broadway when he rolled through town last October, but he's taking a major step up to The Factory this time around. I guess that's what happens when you release one of the most acclaimed albums of 2024 (plus a prominent guest spot on that Waxahatchee record). Musically, he's mining a familiar vein of country-tinged indie rock, but lyrically, he's definitely got a distinct style (the infamous "Himbo Dome" line might be the most discussed lyric of the year). Come join me!
