Short walk -Goyt Valley-7 miles- Sunday 9th November

This Sunday 9th November walk is a walk within the Goyt Valley, taking in Foxlow Edge, Cats Tor, Shining Tor and Erwood Reservoir.

Meet at Brooklands at 10 am for car share.
Please let me know if going direct.
There is a steep ascent at the beginning of the walk and a gradual, long ascent at the top. There are uneven flagged stones in one part so walking boots are essential and poles recommended.

Sorry, no dogs, as livestock in one field.

Head east on Marsland Rd/A6144 towards Hope Rd
Go through 1 roundabout
Turn right onto Northenden Rd/A6144
Continue to follow A6144
Keep left to continue on Old Hall Rd/A6144
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Old Hall Rd/A6144
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the M60 slip road to Ring Road S/Ring Road E
Merge onto M60
At junction 3, take the A34 exit to Cheadle/Wilmslow

Take the slip road onto Kingsway/A34
Continue to follow A34
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Wilmslow - Handforth Bypass/A34
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Wilmslow - Handforth Bypass/A34
Slight left to merge onto Manchester Airport Eastern Link Rd/A555 towards Buxton/A6/Bramhall/Woodford/A5102/Poynton/A5149
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Manchester Airport Eastern Link Rd/A555
Turn left onto Macclesfield Rd/A523
Continue to follow A523
Sharp right onto Buxton Rd/A6
Turn right onto Buxton old Road
Right onto Midhurst Lane which becomes Higher Lane
Left onto Macclesfield Road (B4570).
Sharp right onto Buxton Road which becomes Long Hill (A5004)
Turn right down Goyts Lane. At the bottom It will go over a bridge between the 2 reservoirs. Turn left (NOT right to The Street) on narrow road to Errwood Hall carpark
