Prajna Brianna Vieira and Mr. David (David Estes) each bring over 25 years of Hindu devotional chanting practice and professional musicianship to their dynamic duo. Both performers lead, trading off on vocals, and playing different instruments — Prajna on harmonium and melodica, and David on Indian drum, chikari banjo, and acoustic guitar.
Mr. David (David Estes) is the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and bandleader of the Ananda Rasa Kirtan band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He grew up in India and spent several years immersed in the practices of kirtan, Sanskrit text chanting, meditation, and seva (service) as a full-time ashram resident.
Prajna Brianna Vieira has taught āsana, yogic philosophy, and bhakti yoga for over 20 years. A lifelong musician and dancer, she studies and performs kirtan, Odissi classical Indian dance, harikatha (storytelling), and ballet both locally and internationally. She is especially known for her work with kirtan artists Jai Uttal, Ben Leinbach, David Estes, and Mukti.
