See all- Central Point Reyes LoopBear Valley Visitor Center, Point Reyes Station, CA
Join us on this classic route in the Point Reyes National Seashore featuring both forests and ocean views,. Exact route to be determined based on trail conditions, but will include a climb over Inverness Ridge and a return through Bear Valley. Expect approximately 13-14 miles and approximately 1,800 ft. of elevation gain.
Not for speed demons or gazelles, but not a hike for those just getting into shape. If you wish to hike fast and get back early, this is not the hike for you. Mellow hikers welcomed.

Weather and will determine our route. Approximately 8 miles with some good elevation/exercise. We will hope for sweeping ocean views and, if weather is appropriate, a snack stop at West Point Inn.
Early start means easier parking, cooler day and fewer people on the trail.
End time approximate.
Pace approximately 2.4 mph average (brisk and steady)RSVP here for Sierra Club hike :-)
If, by chance Mountain Home Inn parking lot is full, there is PLENTY of parking both before (west side of Panoramic) or after (up towards the fire station- ALWAYS check this site the morning of the hike in case of change due to weather, air quality or whim
- RSVP only if you truly intend to come (esp important on small group hikes)
- Keep RSVP current.
- A note to leader if you have to cancel is appreciated.
- Arrive on time for an on time start.
- If you are in the lead you will end up waiting at trail junctions. We also stop at bridges and often enjoy a healing/restorative stretch. If you are in the back, you will be asked to do your best to keep up with the group and at waiting points.
