Whatever nature offers, I adjust and adapt accordingly. With lots of recent rain, I expect to see significant numbers of wild fungi and edible plants in the wild.

On this trip, I am combining hiking, wild food foraging and mycology field discovery, exploring & photographing various new and fascinating species, in various colors and forms, such as vibrant lilac blewit, yellow chanterelle, bright orange sulfur shelf, bright red fly agaric, indigo milk cap; and foraging for wild choice edible such as cantharellus californicus, pleurotus ostreatus, clitocybe nuda, boletus barrowsii, amanita velosa, amanita calyptroderma, agaricus bitorquis; and searching for fungi with healing potential, such as hericium erinaceus and trametes versicolor.

I also expect to find some edible plants, such as watercress/ nasturtium officinale, wild field mustard/ brassica rapa, dandelion/ taraxacum officinale, sowthistle/ sonchus oleraceus, common mallow/ malva neglecta, curly dock/ rumex crispus, stinging nettle/ urtica dioica, plantain/ plantago major, California bay/ umbellularia californica, manzanita/ arctostaphylos manzanita.

The hike to Broadcast Peak, via Tequepis Trail would provide a great workout in beautiful nature and offer spectacular views of Lake Cachuma, Pacific Ocean, Goleta, and Santa Barbara, even when it is foggy or cloudy on the coastline.
