Come out to the beginning of the Barton Creek Greenbelt at 8:30 am January 31st for a beginner-friendly bird walk. We will have a couple of binoculars to borrow, but you are encouraged to bring your own. I will go over some binocular fundamentals before walking and stopping along the trail to listen to and see some birds. Expect to hike for 1.5 miles and some of that might be in the dry creek bed.

You will learn about the winter crew of birds that are seasonally here and the residents who are here year-around.

It's being led by me, Andrew Harrod. I am on the board of this organization, and also a Capital Area Master Naturalist and can answer any questions about that program. I graduated with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries and have led many bird walks at McKinney Falls State Park and help out with annual winter bird censuses that take place locally.
