Ivinghoe Beacon is a fabled destination for walkers and a well-known look out point which attracts many visitors. The walk is about 6.5 miles. We'll be walking up to the top of Ivinghoe Beacon, via boulevard paths lined with overhanging trees and back via Ward's Combe woods on the way back to the Bridgewater Arms, our starting point. Walking time approx 2.5 to 3 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

If you wish to you can stay afterwards for a post-walk chat, drink and food at the Bridgewater Arms, which has a real fireplace.

Meeting Point and Free Parking
Free parking is along the road next to the pub, and there's a limitless number of spaces. Please don't park in the pub's car park as it's reserved for immediate customers only. We'll congregate in the car park opposite the Bridgewater Arms.

Travelling from London / by Train
There is now a new, on-demand bus service called HertsLynx which runs from all three nearby train stations; Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead. Depending on availability, you can book in advance to get from these stations to many of the walk start points for £3 each way.

The HertsLynx app is free and the service stops right outside the Bridgewater Arms. Nearest train station is Berkhamsted.
