Lady J & Soulful Knights is an impassioned Blues, Jazz, and Soul band set to augment San Diego's already rich music scene. Lady J, a native San Diegan, comes from a family of talented musicians, songwriters, and singers. Although her roots are steeped in gospel music, her influences range from soul legends such as Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight to jazz & blues greats like Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ruth Brown & Etta James. The fusion of these influences has allowed Lady J to develop a dynamic sound that is powerful, earthy, and rich - yet full of warmth and clarity. Having recently served as lead singer for blues band “Uncle Bob & the Earthmovers”, Lady J has thrilled audiences at many of San Diego’s high-profile events and venues. Her newest band, Soulful Knights, is a cast of some of Southern California’s premiere, gifted, and most-inspired musicians, many of whom have played behind nationally known artists. Whether playing fiery Rockin' blues, a scorching Slow burner, or a soul-stirring sanctified-drenched number, Lady J & Soulful Knights guarantee a thrilling and most-memorable experience
