Moderate-hard Blue Sky to Ramona Dam w/dogs

Join us on a moderate hike starting the Blue Sky trail to Ramona Dam/Lake. We’ll enjoy an easy walk along the Blue Sky trail in the shade then begin a steep incline on a dirt path to a steep paved road to Ramona Dam. We will stop at the top for a short break then return to our start. You can stop for breaks on the steep section if necessary. This is not recommended for older dogs.
We're starting early as it's snake season. There's a chemical toilet at the start and at the top by Lake Ramona.

Do not double book yourself as there may be other events on this day.

Type of hike: Out and back on a dirt, flat rocky sections & paved service road to top of Lake
Mileage: approximately 5.3 mi
Elevation: 1312ft.
Pace: moderate dog walking pace

You have the option to turn back before we go uphill on the steep incline. Just let us know when we begin the hike. Our way down will be steep & a trek pole may be helpful. The views along the way are worth it. This is a good cardio workout for everyone.
Call or text 858-243-2650 if lost or late. There's a chemical toilet at the start of the hike, halfway along the trail and at the top by the dam. We will start on time.

DOG SAFETY: Please allow dogs their space. Use a maximum 6' long non-retractable leash. Please be sure collars & leashes are secure. Know your dogs ability. This hike could be difficult for an older dog.

MEET: Rendezvous at the information kiosk near the porta-potty and picnic table.

BRING: Water for your dog, food and water for yourself, sun protection, and your other safety essentials. Poles are optional.
