Gong Fu Cha Tea Meetup - Welcome to 2026!

Happy New Year, Gong Fu Cha community!

We’re excited to kick off our first gathering of 2026 on Saturday, January 17th at a Seattle Public Library location — room reservation is currently pending! Exact library and room details and navigation information will be shared with registered attendees closer to the event.

This meetup is meant to be a relaxed, social celebration of gong fu cha and the joy of tea, while giving everyone a chance to mingle, connect, and get to know our wonderful community.

About Our Gatherings:
These meetups are intended to be social with celebrating gong fu cha and the wonder of teas while getting to know the community! If you’re interested in more intentional tea practice, we will also be having smaller gatherings designed to be more intentional and present with tea. This includes practicing techniques, tools, special teas, and more mindful brewing. Anyone is welcome to join these focused gatherings after attending one of the bigger events like this one!

How You Can Participate:
To help make our meetups fun and collaborative:

• We welcome volunteers to brew tea! Whether you’re experienced or brand new and curious to try, you’re warmly encouraged to brew.
• Bringing tea or tea ware is appreciated but not required. If you have something you’d love to share, wonderful — if not, simply bring yourself.
• Bring your own tea cup! It helps us keep things organized since paper cups tend to get mixed up or misplaced.

And as always, we’re all here to learn together. If you’re unfamiliar with gong fu cha brewing, we’re happy to teach — and we’d love to learn from others as well!

Unfortunately the time and time frame for this event is a little earlier and shorter than our normal large meet ups due to limited facility availability. We are constantly looking for indoor spaces during the colder months to gather.
