What we’re about
Welcome to the Seattle Millennials and Gen Z Meetup group! We’re an active, inclusive community :)
If you’re on Meetup, you’re probably hoping to make friends. That’s great! You should fit right in! We’d love to meet you. Our main activity is our weekly happy hour where we grab drinks at a bar and chat. This can sometimes involve karaoke, boardgames, or minigolf. Currently, our weekly happy hour alternates between being on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week. We often have meetups on weekends as well. Our weekend activities have included hikes, kayaking, beach bonfires, festivals, wine tasting, and fruit picking. In addition to our official weekend meetups, many members will get together without an official meetup. For best results, show up to our weekly happy hour meetup and ask people about their plans for the weekend!
If you read our meetup’s name carefully, you’ll notice that our community is NOT strictly reserved for SINGLES!
That being said, if you ARE single, we ask that your primary motive at activities is to build new, lasting friendships. Members who are pushy or clingy or don’t give other members space will be asked to stop, then asked to leave. And it should go without saying that harassment (of any form) will not be tolerated.
We hope to see you soon!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Hiking - Kelley Creek Via Martin Creek!!! (Easy)Starbucks, Seattle, WA
NOTE : I created a WhatsApp group / channel to facilitate communication for this specific event, since the meetup app doesn't always work well. You can join here:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/LA4DtUG5N6481HTG6vwqt6
We're doing another easier hike to warm up for the rest of the season!
The hike is approximately 5.8 miles roundtrip and is a 1100 ft gain. It is generally considered an easy hike by Washington standards. We will be going at a somewhat relaxed pace. We'll hike along a creek!
https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/kelley-creek-via-martin-creek-connector
Bring hiking shoes or at least tennis shoes, a liter of WATER, and appropriate clothing. Be sure to either eat a snack/meal before coming or bring a sandwich or portable meal!
We will drive to this trailhead:

Everything below relates to carpooling:
We'll meet at the Starbucks in the long narrow public parking lot along Westlake Ave at 9 AM and split into our carpools at around 9:15! Let us know before 9 AM if you are on your way. We generally wait 15 minutes for people to arrive. If you are arriving with your own car, be sure to park in a spot marked "ALL DAY" parking (in case you end up not driving)! Please coordinate carpools in the comments or better yet, the google doc!
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vIVfoDIpMoo1D-9Wa1A_qOuzUM2FsCom0v8mN5Bdhbw/edit?usp=sharing
Please post if you can drive or if you need a ride!
If you are going to arrange your carpool to meet somewhere OTHER THAN the Starbucks on Lake Union, I suggest a park and ride such as Greenlake, Northgate, Eastgate, or Tukwila/SouthCenter. Passengers, please do not ask to be picked up at your home; drivers, please don't offer to do so. It usually creates problems and makes the timing and logistics much more complicated, since people often aren't ready on time, cancel last minute, or just plain don't show up. On the other hand, dropping people off at their home after the hike is much easier.
I strongly discourage meeting at the trailhead unless you need to, especially if you haven't already been to one of our meetups before. People who drive themselves often arrive earlier or later than us, don't recognize us, go to the wrong place, and/or get stressed out.
- Kayaking on the Puget Sound - Henderson Inlet! (Olympia)Starbucks, Seattle, WA
NOTE: I will have 19 extra kayaks, paddles, and life vests available to borrow. My kayaks have a weight limit of 250 lbs per person including gear. Please comment below if interested.
NOTE: this meetup is cross-posted in the Seattle Sea Kayaking Meetup and the Seattle Paddleboard Club Meetup, neither of which have an age limit.
NOTE : I created a WhatsApp group / channel to facilitate communication between the three meetup groups for this specific event, since the meetup app doesn't always work well. You can join here:

Join us for a pleasant weekend paddle through calm bays and inlets of the Puget Sound!
Paddlers of all experience levels are welcome! That being said, if you are bringing your own paddleboard, oru kayak, or inflatable kayak, I require that you have prior experience paddling several miles with your gear! Sometimes it gets windy on these lakes, and those particular watercraft can struggle. If you are borrowing a kayak from me or have a hard plastic kayak, you are fine!
We will be paddling approximately 9 miles, which is a medium-long length trip for us. It would probably be tough and draining for most beginners, but still doable. It involves 3 to 4 hours of paddling. You will have time to eat a packed lunch before the paddle and we will also stop to eat snacks during the paddle, so be sure to bring snacks and water to consume before, during, and after the paddle! Kayaking can be more draining than hiking, especially for beginners, and you will need energy!
Please bring clothes and especially SHOES that can get wet! I recommend close-toed shoes like beach shoes or maybe crocs. Sandals or flip flops can leave your feet exposed to injuries from rocky terrain if we encounter it. Don't forget SUNGLASSES and SUNSCREEN either! For the rest of your outfit, I recommend SYNTHETIC or wool fabrics that will dry quickly. Swimsuits and polyester running shirts are great for warm weather. For colder or rainy weather, I recommend a fleece or wool sweater, a rainproof shell, and hardshell pants.
For those who are bringing their own kayak or paddleboard, we'll meet at the Woodard Bay Recreation Area at 11, and we'll try to be ready to paddle by 11:15. We'll spend 15 to 30 minutes eating lunch or snacks before departing. If you are borrowing a kayak from me and meeting me at the launch, please arrive a bit earlier at 10:30 instead since I need to take a headcount and I need more time than other paddlers to set up.
We'll paddle to the far southern end of the inlet and back. I estimate that we will get back to the launch spot at 4:30 PM, finish packing up by 5:15 PM, and be back in Seattle by 6 PM.
Here's the location of the launch:

If this is your first time:
- We will post the location of our table(s) once we are seated, as the meetup starts, on both this event page and in our WhatsApp channel. For best results, it may be better to show up late. Sometimes we run a few minutes late, and in any case the group will probably be larger and easier to find. Be sure to refresh the comments page! It doesn't refresh on its own, unfortunately.
- If you still can't find us, please post in the comments!
- We don't mind if you are running late or canceling. It's fine! We meet every week anyways :)
- Paddle Boarding @ Lake Union! ☀️🏔️🐳Gas Works Park, Seattle, WA
Join us for our first week night paddle of the year!
Let's enjoy the beautiful weather and hang out on Lake Union! Please keep in mind that this event is cross-posted with the Seattle Paddleboard Club meetup that doesn't have an age limit.
We'll meet at Gasworks Park at 6:30 pm to begin inflating our boards and try to take off from there at around 6:45. We will probably paddle northeast and then stop by Gasworks Brewing on our way back! Their burgers and brews are amazing!
To find the group, post a comment on this event, or better yet, join our WhatsApp chat!
