What we’re about
SecTalks is a non-profit community that runs monthly sessions for technical security talks, and hands-on security challenges! A forum to learn & discuss technical (in)security stuff. We have a mix of sessions for both beginners and security professionals.
SecTalks has three formats (http://www.sectalks.org/formats/), Talk & long CTF, Talk & short CTF, and a Ninja Night.
New to CTF: check our CTF101 workshops (http://www.sectalks.org/ctf101/).
To present: fill up SecTalks CFP (http://j.mp/sectalkscfp) form.
To support: visit SecTalks sponsorship (http://www.sectalks.org/sponsor/) page.
Thanks to our Sponsors
- elttam ( https://elttam.com.au ): an Australian specialised IT security firm that provides independent security consulting and training services.
Away from Sydney? check out SecTalks in other cities (http://www.sectalks.org/#where).
Hobart SecTalkers, we are so happy to announce that as of October we will be back in a Hobart CBD venue in order to make commuting to our events easier and safer for our community.
Our new home is Lower Mathers House, 108-110 Bathurst St, Hobart. There is plenty of parking available nearby, and a short well-lit walk to the bus interchange.
Please note, in order to accommodate availability at our new venue, SecTalks Hobart will move from second Tuesday of the month to second Thursday of the month.
To celebrate, we are holding one our famed Lightning Talks evenings - a series of 15-20 minute presentations on a variety of technical physical and cyber security topics. We have a few submissions already, but should you have something you'd like to present on, please join our Discord server and our organiser team would be thrilled to get you on the bill.
There is no requirement to bring a device this month to work from, but please feel free to bring one to take notes etc!
Pizza is kindly provided by our sponsor Continusec - thank you Adam!
Please feel free to forward this event to anyone in your circles who might be interested - all are welcome.
What is SecTalks
SecTalks meetups are about participating in IT security discussions, learning from others, and improving problem-solving skills. SecTalks offers an avenue where you can team up with like-minded people to participate in solving technical IT security challenges (i.e. Capture The Flag).
For an idea of what to expect in future meetups, please check out https://www.sectalks.org/
