Out and Back
Brin's Mesa Trail is a gem of a hike in Sedona’s Red Rock Secret Wilderness, with sweeping panoramic views of canyon walls and juniper forests.
We will begin our hike at the Brin's Mesa Trailhead. Heading north, we will cross over into the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness and follow the natural rock staircase winding up the mesa and climb 550 feet to the Brin's Mesa Overlook. Standing on the surface of the overlook, in one direction we will see the city of Sedona, and in another direction the walls of Wilson Mountain. After descending from the overlook, we will trek to the east and ascend another 300' to experience scenic Mormon Canyon. These sweeping views of red rock country are magnificent, and it is worth taking a moment to appreciate.
Dogs welcome. Bring plenty of water, snacks, camera and sun protection of some sort. Parking has been tight at the trailheads. It is best to arrive early and car-pool if possible. Parking lot is located on Jordan Rd., which is at the end of the dirt road.
