“The Pretty Place” Chapel/Fred W. Symmes Chapel ~ rescheduled for the third time

This is the third time I have had to reschedule for us to see the chapel. Let’s hope that the third time is a charm! On Monday morning of September 29th the chapel will be open from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. I was going to wait until the spring to reschedule, but so many of you would like to see it now when the leaves are changing. It is indeed beautiful this time of year! I’ve also made our meetup for a weekday so hopefully it won’t be closed to the public then for a wedding, dedication, etc.

There is a schedule that is posted every two weeks informing people when the chapel is open to the public. It’s open almost every day, but is sometimes closed when it is used for weddings, memorial services, dedications, etc. And sometimes there are last minute changes. I will notify you ASAP if it will be closed on our meetup date (hope not!). By the way, there is no charge to see the chapel.

Some of you may want to carpool since parking can be a problem. If so, please make a comment in the comment section.

For those who wish to eat afterwards there will be a separate meetup for Cedar Mountain Cafe which is only 17 minutes/ 6.9 miles away from The Pretty Place Chapel. There aren’t many places to eat in the area, but I’ve been to this cafe many times before when I used to volunteer at DuPont Forest Visitors Center, and the food is pretty good. It is relatively small though. But I talked with the manager and they will accommodate 20 people max. from our group. That’s great! And if it’s a pretty day we can always eat in their outdoor dining area.

Please check prior to attending this meetup to be sure the chapel will be open to us. I will cancel the meetup and the cafe if it isn’t. I hope that won’t be the case though since I’ve already had to cancel twice before. Let’s hope all goes well this time for I really want y’all to see the chapel for the views are breathtaking, and especially this time of year! 🍂🍁
