What we’re about
You know that feeling when the lights go down, the first chord hits, and you realize you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be? Yeah, us too. Setlist Social is for people who live for that moment—whether it’s at a tiny DIY spot, a packed Mission Ballroom show, or somewhere halfway up the hill at Red Rocks. If you've been curating playlists for over a decade, drive to Indie 102.3, still check Pitchfork (even when you disagree), and occasionally find yourself deep in a Gorilla vs. Bear rabbit hole, you’re our kind of people.
What to Expect:
- 🎶 Catching the best shows—indie gems, buzzy up-and-comers, and big-name legends around Denver.
- 🍻 Pre-show hangs—because concerts are better with good company.
- 📀 Music deep dives—debating albums, swapping playlists, and sharing experiences.
- 🎭 Exploring Denver’s creative scene—vinyl digs, art pop-ups, weird little bars.
- 👥 This one’s for the grownups—25+. We love you, next generation, but let’s be real—friendship is easier when you're at a similar point in life. We’re all balancing work, passions, and the occasional late-night show (that we’ll regret the next morning). We love knowing exactly where to park and maybe sneaking out before the encore (just once). No age cap, though—if you’re still excited to stand in the pit, we’re excited to stand next to you.
A Few Simple Rules:
- 📸 Use your real name & clear picture of your face. We’re here for music, not mystery.
- ✅ RSVP responsibly. Two no-shows and you’re ghosting yourself.
- 😷 Stay home if you're sick.
Join us, and let’s make some noise (and some actual plans).

- 🎶 Who’s Playing
🔹 Kiltro: Shoegaze and South American folk swirl into something hypnotic and transportive. If Khruangbin had a Chilean cousin, this would be it.
🔹 Yarn: Americana storytellers with road-dusted harmonies and a jam-band spirit. Think The Lumineers if they hung out with Leftover Salmon.
🔹 Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille: Seven-piece R&B force of nature. Equal parts grit, groove, and joy—come ready to dance.
🔹 Sunstoney: Dreamy indie pop with Ethiopian soul and ethereal production. Feels like floating in soft light.
🔹 Barbara: Wobbly shoegaze meets psych-rock grit—distorted but delicate, like your favorite blurry photo. - 🎧 Essential Tracks

- 🔥 Mannequin Pussy @ Ogden TheatreOgden Theater, Denver, CO
Mannequin Pussy doesn’t flinch. Their sound is feral, tender, and righteously raw, ricocheting between blistering punk and aching indie pop without warning.
"The band lurches between vulnerability and fury with wild-eyed precision… every track is a shapeshifter."
—Pitchfork- 🔹 Who They Are: Formed in Philly and fueled by a decade of defiant growth, Mannequin Pussy blends hardcore adrenaline, dream-pop shimmer, and riot grrrl fire. Singer/guitarist Marisa Dabice spits and soars in equal measure.

- 🔹 Essential Track: “I Got Heaven” – pure punk euphoria with a chorus that’ll have you yelling into the sky.

Couldn't do it without you! - 🍺 MJ Lenderman @ Mission BallroomMission Ballroom, Denver, CO
MJ Lenderman writes songs that feel like overheard bar talk, filtered through twangy distortion and a haze of self-aware melancholy. His blend of alt-country, indie rock, and fuzzed-out storytelling hits that sweet spot between funny, sad, and weirdly profound.
> “His songs feel like scribbled margin notes—casual, clever, a little unraveled."—Pitchfork
- 🔹 Who He Is: Jake is a guitarist for Wednesday and a solo artist who’s carved out a lo-fi lane of his own, dripping with sardonic wit and Southern-fried fuzz.
- 🔹 If You Like: Wednesday, Alex G, Hovvdy, Silver Jews
- 🔹 Essential Track: “Hangover Game” – It’s about Michael Jordan’s flu game… but it’s also about regret, dreams deferred, and cheap beer.

Couldn't do it without you! - 📚 English Teacher @ Lost Lake LoungeOgden Theater, Denver, CO
English Teacher crafts cerebral, wry, and beautifully agitated art-rock that wears its insecurities like a badge of honor. Think wonky guitars, poet-professor vocals, and sharp social commentary wrapped in a post-punk shrug.
"Every verse feels like a thesis and a confession, delivered with deadpan clarity and sonic bite." —The Guardian
- 🔹 Who They Are: Leeds-based quartet fronted by Lily Fontaine, English Teacher turns self-aware millennial malaise into off-kilter anthems. Their debut album This Could Be Texas hit in 2024 and already feels like a cult classic.
- 🔹 If You Like: Dry Cleaning, Yard Act, Squid, early Blur (with better politics)
- 🔹 Essential Track: “The World’s Biggest Paving Slab” – sardonic, sprawling, and sneakily catchy. Great for staring blankly at your ceiling while overthinking your career choices.
- 🔹 Must-Listen Album: This Could Be Texas – a debut full of nervy charm and lyrical flourishes that make you do a double-take. Start to finish, it’s an indie lit major’s dream.
