We are a movie loving group hosting in-person movie watching and discussion events in SF. Come join our Discord community! https://discord.gg/aXYUY8etq9. Typical events involve watching a movie at a theater followed by discussion at a nearby bar, cafe, or restaurant.
My goal is to foster a community of movie lovers that regularly meets to watch and discuss movies of all kinds. I hope that some of the active members will eventually step up and host events so that more people can participate.

This is 'lighter' (and fuzzier) than our usual very serious film fare. ;) So come out join us for the 2025 edition of the CatVideoFest.
"CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses."
We are going to the showing at the Roxie Theater on Thursday, August 14th at 6:00 pm. We will meet in front of the theater at 5:30 pm for quick intros and to secure good seats. Please buy your ticket in advance (https://roxie.com/film/catvideofest-2025/) and be sure to pick the 8/14 date if you want to join us! After the show, we'll meet in front of the theater again and then head to a nearby eatery for food, drinks, and discussion (most likely Big Lantern Chinese Restaurant). Please UPDATE your RSVP if your plans change!
And remember - this is a good deed too, a portion of ticket sales from these screenings will benefit San Francisco’s Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue!
Mini-FAQ:
- If you see the movie at another showing and want to join just for the discussion meet us at the theater after the show (runtime is about 75-80 minutes with some previews).
- If you do not plan to join post-movie discussion, there is no need to RSVP.

Join us for SHALL WE DANCE, a slice of life comedy with an understated power starring Koji Yakusho (Perfect Days, 13 Assassins), playing at the Roxie Theater on Saturday, August 16 at 6:20 pm. We will meet in front of the theater at 5:50 pm for quick intros and to secure good seats. Please buy your ticket in advance! After the show, we'll meet in front of the theater again and then head to a nearby eatery for food, drinks, and discussion (most likely Big Lantern Chinese Restaurant).
