Edwin L. Smith Preserve hike
Details
We will walk the Edwin L. Smith Preserve southwest of Biddeford, ME on an autumn Sunday (no hunting allowed). With 1100 acres, this is the largest of the preserves of Kennebec Land Trust. Fall color, especially with the understory of witch hazel trees, should be spectacular. We will hike about 3 miles into the preserve (6 miles round-trip) at a moderate pace, with plenty of stops to view features of the preserve. Elevation change will be less than 300 feet. The trail is well kept and allows socializing for much of its length. Optional stop in Biddeford/Saco for a meal afterwards. Participants are required to sign a waiver and fill out a short medical form. To see more details, RSVP here.
