Lake Frank, Rock Creek Regional Park
Details
On a cool fall day, explore the trails of Rock Creek Regional Park, one of Montgomery County’s most interesting and varied regional parks, by hiking 4 to 5 miles with 1200' of elevation change in the hilly area around the smaller of its two lakes, Lake Bernard Frank. It's easy, but not too. See map in the photo section below.
Created 50 years ago as a reservoir and named for a co-founder of the Wilderness Society, Lake Bernie also serves as a wonderful hiking venue in our "backyard." Oh, and the trees will still be putting on their annual color show.
All in all, a great way to spend the top half of your and my Sunday!
