Let’s enjoy the cool crisp autumn air while gazing upon the fall foliage of the Farmington River Valley. This will not be a beginners hike, so please assess your ability to keep up with the group before signing up.

We’ll begin the hike on the blue blaze trail to the summit where Heublein Tower is located. It will be a 2 mile stretch with a steady climb to the Heublein tower Summit. After we reached the summit, we can climb the tower stairs for a 360° view of the Farmington River Valley, which should be near or at peak foliage. After we depart the tower, we will hike down to the western edge of reservoir number #6. From there, we will head west back towards the parking lot.

The overall total for this hike will be about 5 miles.

Please bring a light snack or lunch and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. There are porta potties at the summit. Please have appropriate hiking gear for a 5 mile hike. Depending on the weather bug spray may be a good option for potential ticks or mosquitoes.

No dogs or individuals under the age of 18.

The hike will begin at 9:00 AM sharp at the entrance to Heublein Tower along Rt. 185. Look for the bright orange Nissan Rogue.
