Redcliffe Peninsula Line - Community open day

Details

The Redcliffe Peninsula Line (formerly named Moreton Bay Rail Link) is a new railway line connecting Petrie and Kippa-Ring in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.
This line will open for normal service on the 4 October 2016.

As has happened with similar projects, there is a community opening day, which is expected to feature ribbon cutting, speeches, balloons, entertainment, freebies, food, selfies and so on. Importantly it will also be the chance to be part of history being one of the first to ride the train line. It is also a good chance to take photographs and sometimes special areas are open to the public only on that occasion. We plan to get together as a group on the day.

Our plans subject to events on the day but would at least be a ride together along the rail line and a coffee afterwards.

Getting there: Caboolture/Kippa-Ring line trains via Petrie.

There is a ballot for the first train. Good Luck. For more certainty, there are trains every 15 minutes all day, but registration is needed (at least in theory) at https://www.ivvy.com/event/MBRO/

I have registered for the 1 pm service, as it seems there may be more spots available for others joining at this time. If you cannot join at this time, or its inconvenient, let me know and we'll make arrangements.

Meanwhile, if you're not familiar with the project, here are some links:
