HOW IT WORKS
- The class is run by the Sydney Comedy School's hilarious comedians.
- We welcome all newcomers - trust us - you'll soon be a regular!
- You'll be on your feet for 90-minutes, meeting new people and laughing literally nonstop!!!!
- After the class, we all go to the local pub - there's so many of us, we basically take it over.
- It's a night where you'll make new mates, meet a tonne of people, relax and discover something new.

WHAT IS IMPROV COMEDY
- Improvised comedy is a type of games for adults
- Most people come not knowing what to expect, and leave saying "that was not what I expected, and it was so much fun. I'm coming back!"
- You'll do activities in pairs, small groups, the whole class - it's high-paced, super fun, and everyone is involved ALL THE TIME, which means you don't ever feel singled out or watched.
HOW WILL IMPROV HELP ME
- The class is designed so that you'll meet new people and have nonstop laughs.
- You'll work on skills that will help you to gain confidence when speaking to new people
- You'll be better at thinking quickly on your feet and answering questions
- Best of all, you'll find it easier and more comfortable when speaking about yourself.

- The teaching staff at the Sydney Comedy School are from some of Sydney's top comedy shows, such as the Improv Comedy Cagefight and the Stand-Up Comedy Championships.
- People from the class often go as a group to the shows, which is a tonne of fun!

- Many of our regulars take advantage of our 3-class pass system, which means a TONNE of people come back to the classes.
- About three quarters of the class goes to the pub afterwards.

Free Stand-Up Comedy Class (+ Comedy show afterwards)

Meet new people, laugh, and have a lot of fun!!
At the FREE stand up comedy class we will go through a simple joke-writing technique and you will write your own jokes!
To attend, please GET YOUR FREE TICKET (HERE!!) VIA EVENTBRITE TO THIS CLASS.
This is a chilled, warm and fun class - perfect for the absolute beginner. This isn't a class where people get on the microphone - instead you will be seated share your jokes in pairs or small groups.
You'll be able to showcase your wit and humour, while learning something new about yourself and others too!
This event is advertised across numerous platforms - we usually have about 20-40 people who attend this event each week.
Everyone in the class will gather at our 'singles and mingles' table, where our comedy teacher will meet everyone.
The big red doors on King Street to our upstairs comedy class open at 6pm, and the class starts at 6:15pm. It ends at 7pm. You can also join us from 7pm if you don't want to go to the class.
You will have two options from 7pm:
- You can either continue to hang out with us and then watch the Sydney Stand-Up Comedy Championships (note: this is a paid show). Almost everyone does this!
- Or if you're not interested in comedy, you can head downstairs with people you've met at the MeetUp and continue hanging out.
Timings
- 6pm - Doors open for mingling
- 6:15pm - Class starts
- 7pm - Class ends, and mingling continues (food and drink can be ordered at the bar)
- 7:30pm - Stand-Up Comedy Championships begins
- 9:15pm - Stand-Up Comedy Championships ends
Earlybird tickets to the comedy show are discounted to just $10 if you get them while getting your FREE ticket to the comedy class. (It's an option at the end of the ticket process.)
That's right - just $10 for a night of laughs, learning something new, and meeting some epic people.
And if you're coming with a friend and booking in advance, you can get 2 for 1 super early bird tickets for just $7.50! Or if you like getting last-minute tickets, you can get tickets at the door for $20.
