Scenic Manly North Head, Fairfax Lookout & Quarantine Station 🌿⛱ 🐋 🐳

🗓 DATE: Saturday, 28 June 2025.
⏰ MEETING TIME: 9.55am.
⛴ MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Manly Wharf at the entry/exit in front of Information Centre.
🚻 Toilets located at the basement carpark opposite the Information Centre.

🥾 DISTANCE: 14km return.
🥾 GRADE: Easy/mostly Moderate tracks on a relaxing pace at 4 km per hour, not snail pace with plenty of photo and selfie stops.
💪🏽 Few sections on a steep stair climbs with uneven rocky surfaces, walking on sandy beaches and a bit of rock climbing. Tracks expected to be wet and muddy at few sections.
💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended for this walk.

📸 WHAT TO EXPECT:
🚶‍♂️The Manly to North Head Track (technically called the North Head Sanctuary Loop) is a walking track that starts from above Shelly Beach and loops up and around to the end of North Head, aka the outermost point of Sydney Harbour.
🐳 It offers dramatic coastal cliffs, lush bushlands, hanging swamps and epic harbour views from Quarantine Cemetery and scenic Fairfax Lookouts with a side of interesting military history at The Barracks Precinct.
🥪 We will stop for a toilet and BYO lunch break at Bella Vista Cafe with an amazing views of the harbour.
🐳 After lunch, we will continue our exciting adventure to Fairfax Lookout and Memorial Walk.
🚶🏼‍♀️ Then to Quarantine Station for a quick museum visit and photo stops before continuing back to Manly Wharf along few gorgeous beaches for a ferry or bus home.
🍹You’re very welcome to stay as long as you wish for a drinks or bite to eat at the end of the walk.

🎒WHAT TO BRING:
👕 Comfortable outfit for the weather preferably hiking gear. Jeans or cotton t-shirt may not be suitable for this walk.
🥾 Waterproof hiking boots or good grip walking shoes highly recommended.
💦 At least 1.2L of water (limited refills), Hydralyte or sports energy drinks.
🥪 Snacks and packed LUNCH.
🧢 Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.
⛑ Basic First Aid kit ie. bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain reliever and hand sanitiser.
🧥Light raincoat just in case of wet weather.

$5 CASH per person for this event to be collected at the start of the walk.

⛴ Ferry departs at 9.30am from Circular Quay, Wharf 3. Arriving Manly Wharf at 9.52am.

🚗 Those travelling by car, if you’re lucky enough you may find free unlimited parking on the main road or side streets about 5-10 minutes walk to/from Manly wharf.

🏃‍♂️ Please leave home with plenty of time and arrive promptly. It’s rude and disrespectful for turning up late!
