Details

There is a $5.00 parking fee for the resort.

LOAD YOUR KAYAK, CANOE, OR SUP, and let’s go for a paddle! I recently purchased a kayak and rather new to the sport of paddling, so I welcome feedback on the Rocky Point area. What I do know, there are wildlife rich wetlands to explore. I have in mind a 3-4 hour paddle including stretching our legs at lunch along the shore outside the refuge. Pack a moisture wicking layer such as a wind shell or fleece in case it gets breezy while on the water. Additionally, have sunscreen and insect repellent on hand. Bring water, lunch, and snacks.

REMEMBER: Personal Floatation Device (PFD) due to the possibly a situation could suddenly go south. The majority of drownings would have been preventable if the person wore a floatation device. Just like seatbelts in a car, it makes sense to wear a PFD, so let’s all buckle up! Waterway Access Permit is required for any type of paddle craft, including SUP boards that have a length of 10-feet or more. You can purchase one at Bi-Mart, Blackbird, Dick’s Sporting Goods, to name a few. Sound producing device such as a whistle or small air horn is also required for paddlers.
