Somerset Inbetweeners walking & adventure group (ages 25-49)

A slightly longer one with a decent climb up to the peak hence 6/10, but well worth it for the stunning views at the top on a clear day! Also the chance to grab a pint in the pub afterwards if you have time to hang around.

I haven't walked this one for a while so will add more description and route map once I have had a chance to check all the footpaths again on a recce in the next week or two.

I know this is a very long way off but I want to try a one-off more ambitious trip in the New Year and offer a walk on the glorious north Devon coast in one of its most beautiful areas! Given the distance for Somerset people I'm happy to hire a minibus and let people know the cost before anything is committed, but the plan would be:

- Get a minibus from central Taunton, so just get yourself there by 8am. I'll drive - hopefully I proved to Ema on the last walk that I am a sensible driver for lifts... or make your own way near Lynmouth by 09:30.
- After a stop to admire the view on Exmoor, get a late breakfast or coffee at Caffyns Farm, a lovely site about 3 miles west of Lynmouth
- At about 10am walk the spectacular southwest coast path from Caffyns Farm, stopping at the Valley of the Rocks, the cove at Wringcliff Bay and onward to Lynmouth.
- Arrive at Lynmouth about noon for lunch, ice-cream, whatever you want. Explore Lynmouth until 1:30 or 2, whether that's just having a few beers, the rocky beaches, the cliff railway or the shops. It's a beautiful place to kill time whatever you like to do. In the meantime I'll head off a bit earlier to get the minibus for a pick up and get us back in Taunton by about 3pm.

If you make your own way there, there is the option of walking back, taking the bus or a taxi. It's a walk that is spectacular either way. No commitment at all yet - just please let me know if you are interested by RSVP'ing so I can get an idea of numbers.

Anticipated cost for the minibus is is about £20 per person. It may feel a bit school trip-ish, and maybe I'm being over-optimistic, but if I don't offer it definitely won't happen!

Date chosen so the tide is at a nice height for the morning. 6/10 as it is a bit steep in places but we can make plenty of stops. Also note that although the path is safe if sensible, it is high up and there isn't much between you and the sea - although I'm scared of heights and have done it many times!
