Morning Almaden Quicksilver Hike @ Mockingbird Hill Entrance & "Optional Lunch"

Hello Friends

This time we will change to Mine Hill Trail as previous somewhat narrow and getting overgrown.

All Trails: Prospect #3 to Mine Hill Trail Loop

Approx. 6.9 miles, 1,407 ft elevation, moderate route. If you are not confident about doing a 6.9 mile hike with this elevation and some rocky terrain in 3 hours 30 minutes, then you may not be able to keep up and it is not fair on the group to have to wait.

Arrive early or best carpool as parking is limited, If car park is full additional parking can be found on residential Gold Creek Way.

Let's start our hike from the Mockingbird Hill entrance, which has the best facilities of all the park’s entrances.

It's a loop hike that will take us past some mining sites and then back to our starting point on the single-track New Almaden Trail.

Start time is 10:00 am and we should be done around 1:45 pm.

Exposure: 50/50 exposed and shade.

Explore this 6.9-mile loop trail near New Almaden, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 30 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, horseback riding, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.
