Welcome to the South Manchester Meetup Group!
I created this group because I noticed a lack of meetup options in South Manchester and wanted to start more events in the area! Events will be diverse and inclusive, ranging from Drinks, coffee mornings, walks and other fun activities.
We value your input, so feel free to suggest any ideas for future meetups.

Join us every two weeks for an evening of fun, food and friendly company at Benito Lounge, Chorlton. We play everything from casual party games to the latest in cutting edge strategy. It's an evening guaranteed to stimulate and entertain!
We don't charge for this event and there's no need to book, just come along on the night. If you're new to board games, people are always happy to explain the rules and get you up to speed. If you can't make it on time, games start throughout the evening. Turn up when it's good for you and we'll fit you in somewhere!
Typically, 30-50 attend with 5-10 games in progress at any time. Don't pay too much attention to how many sign up here. This event is advertised on Facebook and multiple meetup groups. Many regulars don't sign up at all!

The Venue
Benito Lounge is bright, cozy and airy, with a relaxed atmosphere - the perfect place to spend an evening, whether it's sunny, cold or wet outside. Food is great, you can see their menu here. On Tuesdays they offer a free glass of wine or equivalent with every Tapas board!Getting There
Benitos is close to the main crossroads in Chorlton. 5 minutes walk from Chorlton Tram Station (Zone 2); free on-street parking; and on a dozen bus routes.If you're lucky enough to be under 18, please bring an adult. If you're game, we are. Hope to see you there!

Join us for a hike up Chinley Churn from New Mills with car share the Metropolitan pub, not far from the Burton Road tram station. Total distance will be about 8 miles, and 448m ascent. Stopping off at the excellent Sett Valley Café on the way back, if we make it before 3pm!
As you can appreciate, punctuality is key if we're going to enjoy those glorious hand made pies and cakes as Sett Valley Cafe, so please try to make it to the designated walk start at New Mills Central station by 10am. To park, continue down the road past the station to find the car park on the right (which used to be pay and display).
There is another station at New Mills but the one you want is New Mills Central. Trains leave Piccadilly at 8:50 and 9:30, to arrive at New Mills Central by 10am.
