South West Test is a meetup group in Bristol, UK for anyone involved in, or with an interest in Software Testing /QA.
Our meetups are open to anyone with an interest in Software Testing. Many people come on their own and we make sure the evening is as friendly and welcoming as possible 🥰 It's a great way to get to know other people and learn something new. Oh and did we mention we have free pizza and drinks🍕🍺☕

Following on from our epic 10 Year Anniversary, we are back with another evening packed with Testing Talks, networking, and (of course) pizza! 🍕
This time we’re being hosted by the brilliant team at SRT Marine, who’ll be keeping everyone well fed, watered and looked after. We’ve also got three fantastic talks lined up that you won’t want to miss 💚
Here’s the plan for the night
👉 Doors open from 6pm – come along early, grab a slice of pizza, enjoy a drink (soft and alcoholic options available, all thanks to SRT Marine 💛) and catch up with old friends or meet some new ones.
👉 At around 6:30pm we’ll get stuck into the talks.
Talk 1: Sam Webb : My Epic Test Adventure at the DVSA – Building Quality
Stepping into the public sector for the first time has been both exciting and challenging. In this talk I’ll share my journey of joining the DVSA during a key transition period, and how I’m working to shape and grow a quality-focused team. From navigating change to setting the foundations for lasting improvements, I’ll give an honest account of the lessons, challenges, and opportunities that come with leading quality in such a vital organisation.Talk 2: Paul Sapnik from Does QA - CV QA
Submitting your CV is like releasing software, if it crashes at startup, the rest of your work doesn’t matter. In this session, I’ll quickly walk through common CV pitfalls I've seen too often when hiring, and the simple fixes that can dramatically increase your chances of making it to interview.Talk 3: Jack Proudman – Mutation Testing
Mutation testing is a fault injection technique where we programmatically change aspects of our applications code to evaluate testing.
We'll take a look at how it works and why we might want to do this followed with an investigation into using a particular tool on a codebase.*******************************************************************************
