About us
Welcome!
This group has been founded to create a spiritually like-minded, sacred space that honors the soul of all, human and more-than-human. I offer accessible* shamanic drum & journey circles, free healing circles, introductory classes, and advanced trainings with a thorough application process. You can also contact me for 1-1 healing sessions (for people, animals, places, and businesses) by visiting my website, www.medicinewalker.com. I am available in-person in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as internationally via Zoom.
*Scholarships are available for those in need — while I have to pay bills just like everyone else, I don’t want money to interfere with people receiving the help and community they need.
About Ash
I have been studying shamanism since 2016, and graduated from Sandra Ingerman's final Advanced Shamanic Practitioner Training in 2024. I am creating this group to invite others to join me in ceremony, healing, and connection with the compassionate, helping Spirits.
My background before pursuing healing work included a master's in music performance (2010) and a dual bachelor's in music education and performance (2008). I also graduated with a master's in the Science of Animal Behavior (2023), specializing in canine, feline, and equine. I have been a music teacher since 2002, and a dog trainer since 2008. I didn't realize until a few years ago that I had followed paths of therapeutic influence, music & animals, without even knowing it. This professional history greatly influences and benefits my healing work, both for humans and the more-than-human -- animals & nature.

Spirit healing is one part of a triad for healing. This work does not serve to replace medical care, licensed therapy, or other medically necessary medications & procedures, but rather supports and deepens the process.

Drum Journey Circle
The Horned Toad Art Gallery, 1 Caliente Rd, Santa Fe, NM, USNo prior experience necessary! Come as you are, all are welcome in sacred Circle together.
We will gather and ground with the drum, rattle, singing, and dancing together with Circle Songs passed down through the ages.
I have 3 drums and a few rattles people can borrow, if you don’t have one yet!
Then we will do a collective shamanic journey together. I will decide and assign the intention each meeting, based on feedback from the group in attendance. If you don’t know how to journey, we will ask you to please drum for us!
Then there will be a talking piece ceremony for sharing at the end. This is not a course, so those who wish to learn how to journey are welcome to attend my Roots of a Shamanic Practice course.

I focus on the gifts of joy and passion with a shamanic practice. If I don’t make everyone laugh at least once, I’d be very surprised. I have experience holding circles locally and internationally over Zoom. I am trained by Sandra Ingerman in the USA since 2018, as well as Zara Waldebäck and Jonathan Horwitz of the Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies in Sweden since 2020. I am listed on Sandra’s list, ShamanicTeachers.com, having completed Sandra Ingerman’s 1yr Advanced Shamanic Practitioner Training in 2024 and being in her 2yr Shamanic Teacher Training Program, slated for completion in September of 2026. My specialties include healing song, working with animals, and healing stories. I have dual master’s degrees in music performance and animal behavior, and a bachelor’s in music education.Optional donation $10 - $20.

Roots of a Shamanic Practice Course - 5wks in Santa Fe

Long-distance attendees may attend live via Zoom, there is a separate event listing for the online version.Shamanism dates back over 100,000 years to peoples all over the world. This spiritual phenomenon predates all religions and includes all. This is an animistic way of life, a way of being in the world, a way of spiritually connecting to your soul’s purpose, as well as meeting the authenticity of those around you.
This practice empowers, heals, and transforms when done with integrity, commitment, and discipline. Shamanism has helped me and my clients heal symptoms of anxiety, depression, exhaustion, various physical illnesses, and so much more. From a shamanic perspective, illness (both of the body and mind) comes when there’s something the soul is missing, or if there’s something present that is out of alignment. Learning how to ask the compassionate, helping Spirits for help and healing can be an essential part of a person's path, especially when done in tandem with western medicine and psychotherapy as appropriate.
This course meets for 2hrs/week for 5 weeks in row (adjusted for holidays).
- Course meeting dates: March 7, 14, 21, 28, and April 4
- Handouts provided after each session for easy reference.
- There is light homework between sessions to deepen your practices. Sharing is encouraged via a designated, private email group where I will give 1-1 feedback.
Recommended donation:
$20-$30 per meeting, totaling $100-$150. Payable in cash at the meeting or with a card here.This course covers Sandra Ingerman’s basic workshop outline, with my own unique twists:
- Learning the instruments of a shamanic practice: the rattle and drum
- Meeting your Power Animal
- Meeting your Spirit Teacher
- Learning to do a shamanic journey to the Lower, Middle, and Upper Spirit Worlds
- Practice crafting your own journey intentions to become independent with your shamanic practice
- Participate in ancient healing ceremonies, including a communal power animal retrieval and paired help AKA divination journeys
- How to be of service to the Earth, focusing on your own unique gifts, and living shamanically
- Sing, dance, drum, rattle, and more :)
Bonus: Each participant will receive one optional 30-minute Zoom shamanic counseling/healing session for their own individual needs, scheduled at some point during the 5 weeks we meet.
