Enjoy Some Vintage Baseball! Newbury MA

Join in to experience 1864 style Base Ball at Spence Peirce Little Farm in Newbury MA! These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching, no gloves allowed... A ball bounced once and caught is out! The teams represent actual teams that played in New England during the 19th century! ( see about below) There will be 4 teams playing -Join us - stay as long as you like! * Pack a picnic or purchase Beer ( Ipswich Ale Co.) & Hot Dogs there !!!
* WHAT TO BRING: It's a grass field setting - you will need a chair or blanket to sit on. IF it's sunny a HAT, sunscreen, bug spray- if you need it. Pack a picnic or they will have Beer & Hot Dogs for purchase ( Ipswich Ale Co) ***there is a visitor center with restrooms

ABOUT June 29th is The Ipswich Ale Cup : Join Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm and the Essex Base Ball Association for a day of vintage base ball as we celebrate the 20th season of this partnership! The four teams of Essex Base Ball, the Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lowell Base Ball Club, Portsmouth Rockingham's, and the Lynn Live Oaks, play using 1864 rules. At these fun, historically accurate games, gloves are not allowed, players pitch underhand, and a ball bounced once and caught is an out. Bring a picnic or partake in beer and hot dogs from our at friends Ipswich Ale!
PARKING: there is always plenty of free parking at the farm
